A keeper

First off, really appreciate that Tale sends a little sampler along with the big bottle so that you can try the fragrance and decide whether you'll keep the full bottle. Second, this perfume was a "wow" for me. Floral but make it dark. Longevity was great for me and on the dry down it was strong without being overpowering. I will be wearing this all summer.

So good!

There is a sharp green note at the opening that reminds me of L'Ombre Dans L'eau. Then the LOTV comes in, offering some rounding to the green notes. I get wafts of it as I move my body, and I'm constantly thinking, "What smells so good?" The Arts and Olfaction award was well deserved!

Bad lily

Beautiful, well rounded fragrance. The dry town is so creamy and nostalgic. Love it!

Bad Lily, my nostalgic secret

I had been eyeing up Tale Parfum for a while ; their discovery set had been on my wishlist for for like a year. I finally decided to to get it and WOW! I’m so glad I picked it up! The notes in each of their current fragrances are all smells that I love but Lily is a note that I am constantly on the lookout for because it’s nostalgic and reminds me of my grandmother growing up. However, it wasn’t an easy decision- I wanted and still want all of them. (I ended up picking up Fleurt very closely after!)

Anyway, I am a lover of all purple flowers; Lily of The Valley, lilac, violet, jasmine etc. I was not expecting how realistic the Lily in Bad Lily was going to be, and it’s truly breathtakingly beautiful.

It’s described as “wild, verdant, floral, luminous. A night-blooming thief. Steal her secret.” Which I think is the perfect little description of this scent.

Upon first spray, it’s decadently sweet with that photorealistic depth of the Lil of The Valley. The green notes in the background give it this bright but rainy earthiness. It’s creamy and a little dirty, but not indolic on my skin at all. I just find it to be so gorgeous and sensual. It’s so well-rounded; the notes in this fragrance dance. It has a far but not overwhelming reach and lays beautifully on my skin for hours. It has such a lovely performance all around. And there’s just something comforting and nostalgic for me- I can’t live without it.

As it dries down, you get the earthier notes of patchouli and oak moss; still sweet and mystifying from the lily and plum. I can’t say a bad thing about this perfume, I’m absolutely head over heels in love with it.
